Migrating Toward Wholeness® Virtual Retreat

$259.00

Rewriting the Truth

Saturday, November 15, 2025 • 11am–4pm ET

A full-day virtual retreat designed to help adoptees reconnect with their inner truth and reimagine the narratives that shape their lives.

In this immersive, trauma-responsive, arts-based healing experience, we’ll explore what it means to untangle the stories we were told from the ones we’re here to live. Through guided writing, reflection, and community care, you’ll practice reclaiming authorship of your story — not to erase the past, but to make space for your own voice, language, and truth to emerge.

This retreat builds on the Migrating Toward Wholeness™ framework, focusing on the second principle, Rewriting the Truth, which invites us to question inherited beliefs, release shame, and write from a place of agency, autonomy, and authenticity.

Come as you are. Leave a little more whole.

What You’ll Experience

This retreat centers on the next principle of the Migrating Toward Wholeness™ (MTW) framework — Rewriting the Truth. Together we will:

  • Guided Writing & Reflection: Thoughtfully designed prompts to help you uncover, name, and rewrite the stories that shaped you.

  • Embodied Awareness: Gentle grounding and visualization practices to connect mind, body, and story.

  • Community Connection: A supportive space with fellow adoptees who understand the complexity of living between truths.

  • Integration & Renewal: Time for reflection, rest, and collective closing to help you carry your new story forward.

This day is an invitation to pause, listen deeply, and begin to untangle the stories that no longer serve you — so you can write the truth that’s yours to live.

About Migrating Toward Wholeness

Migrating Toward Wholeness (MTW) is a trauma-informed, trauma-responsive, and trauma-specific, arts-based healing framework developed by Dr. Liz DeBetta. It weaves together writing, embodiment, and connection to help participants reclaim their voices, rewrite the stories that have shaped them, and move toward wholeness.

At its core, MTW supports you in cultivating the Four A’salignment, authenticity, autonomy, and agency — so you can live more fully in your truth and create the conditions for lasting healing.

This November retreat is the next in a series of full-day retreats, each dedicated to one of the MTW principles. By joining, you’ll be setting the foundation for deeper healing to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this retreat for?
While this retreat is centered on adoptees, it is also open to anyone in the adoption constellation, allies, and others seeking healing through writing and embodiment. Breakout rooms may be used depending on the group configuration to ensure sharing happens in ways that honor individual identities and affinities.

Do I have to share my writing or story?
No. Sharing is always optional. You’ll be invited to participate in ways that feel safe and supportive for you.

Will the retreat be recorded?
No. To protect privacy and confidentiality, this retreat will be a live, in-the-moment experience only.

What if I can’t attend the whole day?
The retreat is designed as a complete arc, so attending the full day is strongly encouraged. If you need to step away briefly, that’s fine — but full participation will give you the deepest experience.

What should I bring?
A journal or notebook, something to write with, water, and a comfortable space where you can move and reflect.

What if I feel overwhelmed during the retreat?
This retreat may surface strong emotions, which is a natural part of healing work. We will use grounding and regulation practices throughout the day to support you. You are always encouraged to step away, take breaks, or participate in ways that feel manageable for you.

How does the Community Rate work?
The Community Rate offers 50% off the standard price and is available by application. It ensures that financial constraints aren’t a barrier to participating in healing spaces.
